Welcome everyone! Today I wanted to share some color palette inspiration for Manchester Tan by Benjamin Moore.
I do already have a whole blog post for this color, but I thought we could go into more depth with coordinating color ideas.
I will be the first to admit that I err on the side of caution with paint colors, but that isn’t for everybody! In this post we will have a little more fun.
Nature Inspired Color Palette for Manchester Tan
Starting off pretty neutral, I created this sort-of-seaside nature inspired color palette.
I love the idea of using Manchester Tan with a seaglass color like Healing Aloe, and with a coordinating darker beige like Bleeker Beige:
When we veer slightly away from coastal, we happen upon the muted sage of Carolina Gull:
All of these colors are beautiful, versatile, stand alone paint colors.
Complementary Color Palette for Manchester Tan
In case you’ve ever wondered: A complementary color is “officially” the color directly across the color wheel from whatever shade you are working with. It’s not technically just any old color that looks nice with another one.
(But who cares really? …Maybe you?)
For Manchester Tan, the complementary color is a dusty blue. Here are light and dark shades that work well:
Sherwin Williams Upward is the only non-Benjamin Moore shade in these palettes. I wanted to include it because it fits the bill, AND it was their 2024 Color of the Year!
This light, peri-leaning blue, works beautifully with Manchester Tan.
Flower Box is a mid-toned Benjamin Moore dusty blue that also leans a little purple:
Finally, you can also pair Manchester Tan with the ultra complementary Hale Navy:
Manchester Tan with Saturated Tones
This color palette isn’t too “out there” but it does feature a few more deeply saturated colors.
A shade that could have been in the complementary color palette, is Benjamin Moore Blue Nova:
This rich blue was Benjamin Moore’s 2024 Color of the Year!
Benjamin Moore Pink Damask is a bright and saturated white. It’s also a dupe for Sherwin Williams White Flour.
Benjamin Moore Peanut Shell is a very saturated beige. It’s a bit bold, but we’re trying things out here!
Spring-Inspired Manchester Tan Color Palette
I like to describe Manchester Tan as a “sunny beige.” It’s happy and warm like Spring!
Simply White is a bright and creamy white that works very well with Manchester Tan:
Pistachio is a fresh spring green that plays really nicely off of the undertones in Manchester Tan.
Finally, here is a real sunshine color to pair with the sunny-ness of our hero color: Benjamin Moore Featherbed.
Manchester Tan Pastel Color Palette
Finally we have a coordinating color palette that features Manchester Tan amongst cheery and bold pastel paint colors:
Benjamin Moore Oceanfront is a punchy seafoam shade that also brings coastal vibes to Manchester Tan:
If there is a part of you that wants a more subdued version, Sherwin Williams Oyster Bay looks very gray, but is a gorgeous aqueous color.
I happen to really like the bright terracotta of Coral Spice with the calm beige of Manchester Tan:
If you like this color too, you might also like these other terracotta colors.
That’s all I have for you today! Here are some other fun blog posts:
