Webster Green has been named the Benjamin Moore “Color of the Year” for 2027!
This comes after the rest of the major paint brands already made their picks, with Valspar Cottage Door, Sherwin Williams Celery, and Behr Grounded. Today we are going to take a good look at this shade, and see if it makes sense for the year ahead!

I’ve got coordinating colors for Webster Green, examples of how this color will look in real life, and dupes to help you get the look from other brands!
What Color is Benjamin Moore Webster Green, and Why Does it Work for 2027?
First things first, Webster Green (HC-130) is also known as Willow Grove (636.) These colors are one and the same!

At first glance, Webster Green (Willow Grove) seemed very similar to the Behr Color of the Year from last year, Hidden Gem:

…but upon further inspection, Hidden Gem is quite a bit more blue/teal than Webster Green is, so it isn’t a straight up copycat.

Webster Green is kind of like a cross between sage green and emerald green. It isn’t as gray as most sage colors, or as muted, but it isn’t a fully saturated emerald color either.
This is exactly how I describe Benjamin Moore Backwoods as well, but that color is a little bit darker.

Personally, I do like this color, but I was a bit surprised to see this pick from Benjamin Moore – not because it isn’t a good color – but because all of the biggest brands selected a green color just a few years ago:

Webster Green isn’t that far off from the sage green trend that has been “in” for a few years already, and it isn’t at all warm like most trends are leaning. It is however a little bit teal, which is getting more popular.
Can’t be too mad at this pick, since 3 of the 4 “Color of the Year” picks are all variations of green. (Grounded and Celery are also green…ish.)
Benjamin Moore Webster Green Undertones
The undertones of Webster Green lean more to the cool side of green, but not quite blue. At its coolest, the color can look a little teal.

What to Expect from Webster Green Inside and Outside Real Homes
Like many picks for color of the year, Webster Green/Willow Grove isn’t the most popular shade yet, so we will have to use our imaginations a little bit.
Here is some real deal Webster Green on kitchen cabinets, just so that you know what the color does look like before we get into some other examples:
Here is one more example of a typical look for this color on a front door:
Here is an example of Webster Green at its most teal:

For a good example of how this color will look on walls, let’s take a look at the darker shade Backwoods, but I have color adjusted it to look more like Webster Green:

Here is another example using the shade Benjamin Moore Caldwell Green:

Webster Green will just look a little bit brighter and a hair less gray than this.
When it looks quite teal, Webster Green will look a little something like this:

This was Sherwin Williams Rocky River (one of my favorite teal colors for kitchen cabinets), but I changed the color to match that more tealy look that Webster Green can have.
Webster Green in a Color Palette
Here is a coordinating color palette for Webster Green:

Neutral Paint Colors to Use with Webster Green
For a mid-toned neutral that coordinates well with Webster Green, I recommend Benjamin Moore Ashen Tan.

Ashen Tan is a creamy taupe paint color that can look either quite beige, or have a cooler mushroom undertone that is complementary to Webster Green. It also happens to be my Benjamin Moore dupe for the more popular Sherwin Williams color Shiitake.
For something not-quite-neutral but not white, try Webster Green with Sherwin Williams Aesthetic White.

Aesthetic White is a creamy off-white with a delicate frosty pink/purple undertone, which is also complementary to Webster Green.
If you want to stay within the Benjamin Moore color line, the shade Etiquette is very similar.
White Paint that Goes with Webster Green
For a true white paint color for trim, doors, etc with Webster Green, I recommend Benjamin Moore Alabaster.

Not to be confused with the more popular Sherwin Williams Alabaster, the Benjamin Moore color is a true white without a yellow undertone. This shade goes well with not only Webster Green, but also every other color in the palette.
Use Benjamin Moore Silhouette with Webster Green
If the color fits, why not pair the 2027 Color of the Year with the 2026 pick?

Benjamin Moore Silhouette is a chocolatey charcoal that pairs well with all manner of green paint colors, including Webster Green!
Pair Webster Green with Sherwin Williams Stardew
When working with green, there is always some shade of blue that coordinates well, and for Webster Green my pick is Sherwin Williams Stardew.

To be fair, Stardew is often my choice for a coordinating blue paint color because it is a go-with-everything shade that almost everybody likes!
Again if you want to stick with Benjamin Moore, I have an alternative! Try Webster Green with Solitude for a very similar look.
Dupes for Benjamin Moore Webster Green
Can’t get your hot little hands on Benjamin Moore? Here are the best color matches from the other major paint brands:

Sherwin Williams Version of Webster Green
The closest Sherwin Williams color to Webster Green is the shade Jadite (also sometimes spelled “Jadeite”):

Jadite is just a hair brighter/cleaner than Webster Green, and that is exactly how it translates in real life.
Valspar (Lowe’s) Dupe for Webster Green
Over at Lowe’s, the best dupe for Webster Green is the shade Hanging Vine.

Hanging Vine is just a little bit cooler and teal-leaning than Webster Green.
Behr (Home Depot) Alternative to Webster Green
I was not able to find a near perfect dupe for Webster Green at Home Depot, so we will have to make do with a close alternative. For that we turn to the Behr shade Greener Pastures.

Greener Pastures looks quite similar in real life, but it is a hair darker and a fair bit warmer than Webster Green. There is still a lot of overlap between these two colors, but the Behr color is less likely to look teal.
Here is another look at each of the dupes:

Thank you so much for reading until the end, that really helps my blog!
