Sherwin Williams Maison Blanche is a warm and creamy beige paint color on the lighter side. While you probably won’t confuse this color for an actual white, you could use it anywhere that you were considering an off-white!

Here we will take a look at Maison Blanche’s undertones, get coordinating color ideas from myself and the experts at Sherwin Williams, and finally, see it compared to a few similar shades.
What Are the Undertones of Sherwin Williams Maison Blanche?
Maison Blanche should perhaps be called Maison “not-so-blanche,” because it isn’t really a white paint color as the name suggests.

The LRV (Light Reflectance Value) of a color indicates on a scale of 0 – 100 how much light a color reflects (or doesn’t reflect). True black has an LRV of 0 and pure white has an LRV of 100.
In the paint world, we are working in a range of about 3 – 93 because no paint color is purely black or completely white.
The LRV of Maison Blanche is 66, which puts it into the same LRV range as whole-home neutrals. For context, Agreeable Gray has an LRV of 60, and nobody is accusing it of being close to white.

In terms of undertones, Maison Blanche ranges in appearance from a light biscuit color to an almost pink beige. It is however, almost always peach forward.

The best way I can think to describe Maison Blanche, is the color of a sea shell. You know that peachy beige color that most shells have? That’s Maison Blanche.
Maison Blanche can occasionally look like a totally neutral tan color, but this is rare. Normally it is an obvious warm tone.
Here is a good example of how Maison Blanche most often looks in real life:

The color here is actually Sherwin Williams Natural Linen, but it looks identical to Maison Blanche in this photo. The island is Sherwin Williams Austere Gray.
Here is an example on walls using a nearly identical Benjamin Moore color: Brandy Cream.

If you were to color drench with Maison Blanche, you could expect the color to look lighter and a bit closer to off-white. For a more toned-down color that is similar to this, you might prefer Sherwin Williams Taupe of the Morning.

Here are the coordinating colors that I like with Maison Blanche:

Coordinating White Paint Color for Maison Blanche
For a white paint that goes with Maison Blanche, I took the opportunity to include fan favorite Sherwin Williams Alabaster, because not only do these two look great together:

It’s also inevitable that people will ask if this combo works. (And it absolutely does.) Sherwin Williams Greek Villa is an equally good option.
It is a good idea to use Maison Blanche with a white paint color that is quite creamy. More neutral or cool white colors will emphasize its undertones, and make the color look even less neutral in comparison.
Try Maison Blanche with Sherwin Williams Sable
Sherwin Williams Sable is a rich chocolate brown that has pretty similar undertones to Maison Blanche.

You could use this color for an island, for a feature wall, on doors, or in an adjoining room.
Pair Svelte Sage and Maison Blanche
What pairs better with a creamy neutral than a muted sage?

Sherwin William Svelte Sage is a beautiful, understated sage green, that works well with the peachy undertone of Maison Blanche.
Neutral Paint Color to Use with Maison Blanche
Of course Maison Blanche is already a neutral, so there isn’t a real need to use another one, but I included Sherwin Williams Shoji White in this color palette as a sort of transitional shade between Alabaster and Maison Blanche.

Low contrast monochromatic color schemes are really in style at the moment. A lot of people are choosing to color drench their rooms instead of using a lot of different colors or having accents, so another “color” didn’t feel necessary here.
Shoji White is almost perfectly in between Alabaster and Maison Blanche in terms of the color wheel and lrv, so think of it as a shade variation for your color scheme. You might also like Maritime White for the same reason.

Sherwin Williams Recommends These Coordinating Colors
I actually really like the coordinating color palette that Sherwin Williams suggests for Maison Blanche:

Pair Maison Blanche and Sherwin Williams Panda White
Starting with Panda White, this color is the same idea as Shoji White.

Panda White quite similar to a lighter version of Maison Blanche and is perfect for splitting the difference between that color and a true white.
Use Maison Blanche with Urban Jungle
Urban Jungle is a mid-toned neutral that is from a pretty similar color strip to Maison Blanche (at least in the beginning):

Urban Jungle is more neutral than the darker options from the Maison Blanche collection, so I am guessing that was the reason for choosing this color instead of Mexican Sand or Dormer Brown.
Urban Jungle is a sort of brown, sort of gray, sort of green color that is one shade darker than Universal Khaki (2026 color of the year).

If you like this color, you should check out Sherwin Williams Jogging Path. It is very similar but a little bit lighter and a LOT more popular.
(In fact Jogging Path AND Shoji White are on my list of Sherwin Williams Paint Colors That Everyone Loves! )
Complementary Color for Maison Blanche
Sherwin Williams Mediterranean is an almost perfect complementary color for Maison Blanche (color directly across the wheel).

You might also like Sherwin Williams Whirlpool or Benjamin Moore Aegean Teal.
Here is another look at all of these coordinating colors:

What is the Difference Between Maison Blanche and Accessible Beige?
Maison Blanche and Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige look slightly more alike in real life than they do on paper.

You can see that Accessible Beige is a bit darker and much more gray than Maison Blanche.
At its warmest and brightest, Accessible Beige can look similar to how Maison Blanche does at its darkest:

Maison Blanche vs Sherwin Williams Natural Linen
Natural Linen as we saw earlier, is nearly identical to Sherwin Williams Maison Blanche.

Once a color is this saturated, the nuance between different versions gets a bit lost in my opinion. Technically Natural Linen is a tiny bit more gray than Masion Blanche. It is also from a peach color family that is a tiny bit closer to pink.
You might find that Natural Linen looks neutral or pink just a teeny tiny bit more often than Maison Blanche does. The vast majority of the time, these colors look almost identical.
Sherwin Williams Maison Blanche vs Casa Blanca
This was a curiosity comparison for me, because my first thought was that Maison Blanche looks quite similar to Sherwin Williams Casa Blanca:

You can see from this photo that Casa Blanca is lighter and more buttery than Maison Blanche.

Technically, Casa Blanca is a much cleaner cream color than Maison Blanche, although it is similar in tone. I do find that Casa Blanca definitely leans more yellow in real life than Maison Blanche does.
